ADDISS is the National Attention Deficit Disorder Information and Support Service. Their website offers resources for carers, young people and teachers.

ADD-vance – A Hertfordshire based charity that supports parents and carers with children who have a diagnosis of, or traits of ADHD, Autism or related conditions.

Beezee
BeeZee – nutritionists and behaviour change experts who run weight management programmes for children and their families across Hertfordshire starting w/c 18 January. This is the UK’s leading charity for people on the autism spectrum and their families.
Potential Kids
Potential Kids is an award winning charity based in Welwyn/Hatfield providing learning, social and sports opportunities to neurodiverse children and young people. They support children and young people with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Tourette Syndrome and other similar conditions.
Supports families of children and young people who are autistic, have ADHD or other neurodiverse conditions. Space is designed to help you navigate local services, build confidence, share knowledge and enjoy social opportunities and activities where you, your children and young people can ‘be themselves’. These include difficulties with reading, writing, spelling and/or mathematics. It also includes problems with the speed of processing information, with working memory, organisational skills, phonological awareness and co-ordination.

Up On Downs
A parent run organisation which supports families of children with Down’s Syndrome.
Up with Downs
Upwards with Downs is a registered charity based in Harlow. They cover Essex, Hertfordshire and adjoining counties supporting adults and children with Down syndrome and their families.
Delivering Special Provision Locally – Area 1 (DSPL1)
DSPL1 covers the following areas: Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock and Royston. There are courses available for parents to take part in through DSPL1. The page is updated regularly with new events, support and courses.
Families First
Families First is the term used in Hertfordshire for services that work together to support families who need extra help. These are also known as early help services. Families First can help find early help and information to prevent issues from getting worse. Families First is available to all Hertfordshire families with children under 18 (25 if they have a learning need or disability).

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service. Impartial and confidential information, advice and support to parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and young people and children with SEND.

The Children and Young People’s (CYP) Speech and Language Therapy service
This service offers a child- and family-centred approach to support CYP with speech, language, communication needs (SLCN) and those with eating and drinking difficulties in Hertfordshire. The website has the dates and times of Drop-In Clinics for children under the age of 5.

This is a dedicated telephone number which parents, carers and professionals can call to speak to a therapist about a new referral or a child’s development. Please leave a message on the Advice Line and a therapist will contact you. Calls are responded to by a therapist on weekdays.
