Please note: As part of the terms and conditions of accepting a space at our wrap around offering at Codicote School, we expect parents to keep their child in our setting until 3.20pm and to pay for that time accordingly. This is for safeguarding reasons and to minimise disruption to the school. Parents should not arrive on the site of Codicote School until 3.10pm at the earliest.
We require the take up of a minimum of 2 sessions a week, in order to help your child settle as this gives them more time to get comfortable with the routine week to week. However, it is important to us that we work directly with you to find the best fit for your little ones so come and talk to us if you have any questions.
We also offer one off session spaces for main sessions (subject to availability). For example, if you have an important event to go to in the morning and need a few hours childcare, or even if you want to get some shopping done without the trauma of buggies, car seats and crying children or just extra time so you don’t need to rush back. Why not get in touch and let us entertain your little one for those few precious hours and you get what needs to be done in peace.
Funding

For all stretched funded children, we ask for a voluntary contribution of just £2.00 per day of attendance to cover the cost of consumables.
We provide invoices and receipts that are clear, transparent and itemised to see you have received your child’s free entitlements and understand any fees for additional hours or services.
Why do we ask for a voluntary £2.00 per day fee for stretched funded children?
Early Years settings are under increasing financial pressure. The Government funding that we receive is to deliver your 15 or 30 hours of childcare support. Funding does not cover the additional costs that we incur to run our Early Years setting and many of these costs are not items that people would realise are costs that we have to pay.
Also, once a child receives 3 or 4 year funding, the hourly rate for that funding is in the region of half of most of our staff’s hourly wage. Even with multiple children attending, that funding money doesn’t stretch far when you have lots of hidden costs of running an Early Years setting.
You may be surprised by some of the costs that we incur and they are all essential to run our provision for the benefit of your child. As you can see from the table below, every penny counts!
What do we spend your fees and funding on over our two settings?
Every penny that we receive goes on enhancing your child’s early education experience as we are a Charity and don’t run for a profit.
