Funding
If you are entitled to funding, you can find out more in the funding area.
For all funded children, we ask for a voluntary contribution of just 50p per day of attendance to cover the cost of consumables.
We provide invoices and receipts that are clear, transparent and itemised to see you have received your child’s free entitlements and understand any fees for additional hours or services.
Why do we ask for a voluntary 50p per day fee for funded children?
Early Years settings are under increasing financial pressure. The Government funding that we receive is to deliver your 15 or 30 hours of childcare support. It does not cover the additional costs that we incur to run our Early Years setting and many of these costs are not items that people would realise are costs that we have to pay.
Every penny that we receive goes on enhancing your child’s early education experience as we are a Charity and don’t run for a profit.
|
Things that aren’t covered by funding |
Examples of what these items are: |
What happens if I don’t pay a voluntary fee? |
|
Your voluntary fee pays for your child to eat a substantial healthy snack every morning. |
Fruit Breadsticks Rice cakes etc |
You will need to provide a substantial healthy snack for your child each day. |
|
Your voluntary fee pays for other consumables that aren’t directly related to your child’s early education. |
Wipes Nappy cream Nappy sacks Products to clean the kitchen Products to clean the bathrooms Products to clean the rooms the children play and eat in Stocks of spare clothing Washing powder Washing up liquid Handwash Paper towels Toilet rolls Bin bags Dishcloths Heating Lighting Water |
The funds will have to come out of our funds to provide education. This means less money being spent on educating all of the children, such as toys and having tighter staffing ratios. |
|
External activity providers |
Super Stars sports sessions |
We currently provide this without charging individual parents for these sessions. However, we may not be able to afford to continue to run these sessions if we don’t receive enough income to cover them. |
What else do we spend your fees on?
You may be surprised by some of the costs that we incur and they are all essential to run our provision for the benefit of your child. As you can see from this table, every penny counts!
