It’s easy to think that online safety doesn’t apply to very young children. However, children are being exposed to the online world at a younger and younger age and so it’s never too early to begin teach your Early Years child how to stay safe online. The most important message to give is:

“If something that you see on the tablet, phone, TV or computer worries you, ALWAYS tell a grown up!”

Parents can help by:

  • Always supervising your child when they are online
  • Adding suitable controls on products that have access to the internet
  • Making sure you check any content that your child has access to before they are allowed to view it
  • Using well known, trusted apps such as CBeebies
  • Limiting the time that your child is online
