OUR VISION

Children are active learners and learn best through play and being provided with a wide range of experiences that reflect their interests.

Parents are a child’s first educators and will have taught them many skills at home. We build on those skills to help the child grow into confident learners.

We have open and honest communication between parents/carers to help enhance the child’s education.

OUR CURRICULUM

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework and are supported by the guidance contained in the Development Matters document.

We aim to provide a curriculum that will help to develop and support children’s prime areas of learning in addition to the specific areas of learning to help them to become confident learners.

At Codicote Childcare and Pre-School no two days are the same! Our planning is often spontaneous as children often learn ‘in the moment’ and this way of planning allows us to capture the individual child’s moment of learning. From this, we are able to see a teachable moment from  the child’s perspective. We know when to intervene and when to stand back and observe.

In addition, we also have termly topics to provide new experiences for children to enable them to explore the wonder of the world around them. We aim to provide opportunities for the children that they might not normally experience.

OUR APPROACH

We strive to provide a safe and caring opportunity for your child to enjoy play whilst gently introducing an understanding of learning.

With our daily routine and the children’s growing familiarity with our learning resources, we aim to help get every child ready for their future journey through school.

Through our professional membership with the Early Years Alliance, we have access to high quality training and resources.

OUR AIMS

We aim to support each and every child in the setting to achieve the following by the time they move on to the next stage of their education (either a nursery or reception class) to:
